Depth of field with the oriole

In the first one, it’s at f/5.6 and the background is more blurry; the second one is at f/8 and the background is more distinct but still nice and blurry. The goal is to get as much of the bird’s body in focus as possible while still keeping the background blurry. The lower part of the bird starts to get blurry at 5.6 and it is clearer at 8. It’s a tradeoff. Which do you like better, or does it matter?IMG_7559bayliss_hooded_oriole_fest_e_raw_crop IMG_7561bayliss_hooded_oriole_fest_e_raw_crop
